The Playlists application gets a GUI

Wednesday, August 28, 2024
The Playlists application is a hobby project, which I use to meet my own needs (compiling Spotify playlists based on top 40 single releases) and with which I experiment with techniques that I have not worked with before. Originally it was set up as a command line application, but it has now been transformed into a client/server application with a frontend that is made with the Angular framework.

And the good news is that it went into production for public use this week on playlists.rsdev.info. Check it out *).

Interested in the source code? It's on GitHub: https://github.com/dschoorl/playlists.

*) Connecting to Spotify has a quirk, which hopefully will be fixed soon. After logging in to Spotify, you have to click the Spotify icon a second time before you are taken to the /main page.

Digital-Ink promotional website

Friday, May 3, 2024
The digital-ink promotional website was launched on Friday, May 3, 2024 (available at www.digital-ink.app). The site is available in Dutch and English and also contains a 5-minute demo video that gives an insight in how the program works. Anyone who is interested in writing books and stories can easily try it out for themselves after watching the video.
The images on digital-ink.info are generated with AI and the voiceover in the demo videos are also based on Generative AI. It was a cool and interesting experience.

Website refreshed

Saturday, April 6, 2024
On April 6, 2024, the Red Star Development website was refreshed, not only with a sleek, new font, but also with the addition of a news section. Moreover, the site is bilingual again (English and Dutch), something that was common until a few years ago. But also smaller improvements have been made, such as a publication date for the articles and a back button at the bottom of the article to return to the overview.

Digital-Ink has been given a logo

Friday, March 1, 2024
As of release v2024.02.29, digital-ink will feature a brand new logo, designed by logolove.nl. The logo represents a large ink drop and the small square blocks represent computer pixels, the digital aspect of the product name. We chose this design because of its calm appearance.

No longer in beta

Friday, September 30, 2022
As of release v2022.09.28, digital-ink is no longer in beta, because a payment service is connected to collect subscription fees and the application takes VAT payments into account. The beta marks have been removed and from here on we will focus working again on functionalities that are interesting for a writer.
